Sandwell Stride Health Walks In Dartmouth Park

Why not join Carol at 2.00 p.m. every Monday at the main entrance in Reform Street for a brisk walk in good company through the park. You will be out in the fresh air and have the safety of walking in a group. The walk takes approximately 45-60 minutes. Please note that there will be no walks on Monday 22 December and Monday 29 December. Walks will resume on Monday 5 January 2009.

The Friends welcome well behaved dogs and responsible owners into Dartmouth Park

Why not join FoDP member Sue Slater with her Competitive Obedience Trained Border Collies on an enjoyable walk? Whilst on the walk you may like to take the opportunity to ask Sue her advice on dog training or behavioural issues. (Sue has been involved in training dogs for almost 30 years.)

Take this opportunity to gain a 'Friends of Dartmouth Park Responsible Dog Ownership Diploma'. Are you aware of the 'do's and don'ts when walking your dog in the Park? If you wish Sue will assess you and your dog and hopefully award you with your Diploma.

The walks will take place each Tuesday afternoon, meeting up at 2.00 pm at the Dagger Lane entrance, and will take about 40 minutes. Think of all the new friends both you and your dog can make. Interested? Telephone Sue on 0121 553 6137.

Christmas Concert at Hallam Street Methodist Church,
West Bromwich

Our Christmas Concert was a great success and kicked off the festive season in style. The K&J Male Choir and Cronehills Primary School Choir entertained us in the first half with a mixture of numbers including lots of Christmas music. Ivor Wright gave us one of his splendid monologues and Soloist Dennis Hodgetts gave a wonderful rendition of a
'Child is Born'. After interval refreshments the audience joined in with several favourite Carols and White Christmas, there was a piano solo by Nicola Bennett, and the Barber Shop Quartet entertained us with, amongst other numbers, their version of Jingle Bells. The concert ended with the Choir and audience singing Silent Night.
